BHOPAL: In a major seizure, 52 kg of gold and Rs 10 crore in cash were recovered from an abandoned car in a forest area in Ratibad, Mendori, near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The gold and money were found during a joint inspection conducted by the Bhopal police and the Income Tax department. According to Income Tax officials, the seized gold is valued at around Rs 42 crore. The police have launched an investigation to identify the persons who abandoned the car.
The police arrived at Mendouri after receiving information about an unclaimed Toyota Innova Crysta parked for a long time in a forested area Upon inspecting the car, they found seven bags inside the car, which contained gold and bundles of cash. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the car is owned by Chetan Singh, a resident of Bhopal. The DCP confirmed that the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
