THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information is out regarding the death of Ammu S Sajeev, a former fourth-year student at Chuttipara SME Nursing College. The postmortem report was released on Sunday. According to the report, Ammu's death was caused by head, hip and thigh injuries. There was bleeding on the brain and from both sides of the skull. The ribs were cracked while fractured hip bones resulted in internal bleeding. There was also a contusion below the right lung.
Ammu, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, jumped from the top of the hostel building last month. She was rushed to Pathanamathitta General Hospital and then to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, but her life could not be saved. The family of Ammu had earlier alleged conspiracy and blamed three of her classmates for pushing her to the brink of suicide. These students objected to Ammu being appointed as the tour coordinator. According to police, even on the day Ammu jumped from the building, the trio had a confrontation with her.
The hostel warden told police that Ammu jumped from the building immediately after returning from her class. The police have also collected the CCTV footage of the hostel. A detailed investigation into Ammu's death is underway.
