KOZHIKODE: The health condition of famous writer M T Vasudevan Nair undergoing treatment at Baby Memorial Hospital continues to remain the same. He is presently under the observation of expert doctors in the ICU. The hospital authorities informed that he is able to breathe without the help of a ventilator and that his blood pressure is normal.
The doctors had informed the other day that MT is responding to medicines and that he has been able to move his limbs. Although MT's health condition remains serious, it has not deteriorated further and is presently responding favorably to treatment, at least to a slight extent, the doctors had informed.
MT was admitted to the hospital on December 15 with health problems including respiratory failure. His health condition later deteriorated further and he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Prominent figures from the socio-political field had visited MT in the hospital. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called the family and enquired about his health. Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi spoke to MT’s daughter Aswathy on the phone. Ministers Mohammed Riyas, A K Saseendran, CPM polit bureau member M A Baby, Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and others reached the hospital and spoke to the doctors and his relatives.
