Actress Archana Kavi shared a heartfelt note about her return to cinema after a long hiatus. Archana is all set to make a comeback to Malayalam cinema with Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Identity’. Archana talked about her fight with depression and the slew of other problems that turned her life upside down. The actress was still in disbelief to learn that her last movie was almost ten years back.
ARCHANA KAVI:
“It's hard to believe that it's been ten years since I saw my face on the big screen. 'Identity' came into my life when I was going through the worst time. I wasn’t sure if I could do justice to the role. I was taking medicines during those times and was having a rough battle with depression.
It was during that time Akhil Paul, the movie director contacted me. We soon become friends. Akhil even made sure I was on track, taking my medicines at the right time. He joined in my prayers during those tumultuous times. I changed doctors often but while we were shooting, I didn't even have a single episode. I am much better now. But I still don't know if I'm ready to face the screen again. I will stand like a worried husband waiting outside a delivery room. My parents are coming to Kerala to watch my film; the first time since Neelathamara. It feels like a rebirth, fingers crossed. “
