HYDERABAD: While the controversy surrounding Allu Arjun is escalating, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made it clear that there will be no compromise on maintaining law and order in the state. He emphasized that film stars, just like the police, have a responsibility to ensure public safety and maintain order. Reddy's statement came during a meeting with film industry representatives at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Center. The meeting was held in the backdrop of a recent incident where a woman died in a stampede during the screening of the movie 'Pushpa 2'. Reddy stressed that the government will not tolerate anything that puts people's lives at risk.
"Stars must adhere to police guidelines when interacting with large crowds. The personal security personnel of the stars should be controlled. Regulations will be put in place for special movie screenings," Revanth Reddy said.
The meeting was attended by Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju, Allu Arjun's father and producer Allu Aravind, and actors Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, Shiva Balaji, Adivi Sesh and Nithin.
The incident related to the case occurred on December 4 during the premiere show of Pushpa 2 and Sandhya Theatre. Allu Arjun made an unexpected appearance at the theatre, leading to an uncontrollable crowd. In the chaos and stampede, 39-year-old Revathi, a native of Andhra Pradesh, lost her life. Her nine-year-old son, Sritej, suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Following this, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, the security personnel and the theatre owners. Although Allu Arjun was arrested by the Telangana police, he was granted bail by the Telangana High Court. However, the actor had to spend a night in jail.
