Man slashed on face by four people due to previous enmity; head injury from metal rod

ALAPPUZHA: Four persons have been arrested in Alappuzha in a case of gang assault on a youth due to previous enmity. Shaji of Kandathil house in Karalakam ward was attacked by two neighbours and their two friends. He was hit on the head with a metal bar and slashed on the face.

Alappuzha North Police arrested Sreejith (33) of Chungam Nedumchira, Vysakh (20) and Sumesh (22) of Kalarikachira house in Karalakam ward, and Adil (21) of Naduvilemuri in Kottankulangara ward. The police said that the accused are regular criminals and KAAPA accused.

SIs Jacob, Devika, Sajeev and senior CPOs Girish and Harish arrested the accused under the leadership of North CI MK Rajesh. All the four accused who were produced in the court were remanded. Shaji, who was seriously injured, is undergoing treatment at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
