THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been made by railways to increase the coach numbers of the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat train. The Railway board has decided to increase the number of coaches from 16 to 20 on this train.
Officials believe the new reforms to end the difficulty of getting tickets on the train that is said to have an occupancy of up to 183 per cent. However, the board didn’t consider the request to increase the coach numbers of Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Vandebharat via Alappuzha.
The request for Ernakulam - Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram - Coimbatore Vande Bharat services also got ignored.
