KOCHI: Uma Thomas MLA, seriously injured after falling from the stage during a dance event, was taken off from ventilator support. The doctors informed that the MLA was still not out of danger and would continue to be in the intensive care unit.

MLA's health condition is slightly improving even with a condition of fluid building around her lungs. On Friday, for the first time since the accident, Uma Thomas got up from her bed to sit comfortably and talk with her sons Vivek and Vishnu.

Uma Thomas asked about the affairs of the MLA office and the maintenance of the house. She wrote on a piece of paper her enquires, as it was not wise to continue with talks. The renovation of their house in Palarivattom Pipeline Road is progressing.

The police had filed a case under the non-bailable section for financial exploitation against the organizers of the dance program in Kochi, which was aimed at winning the Guinness record.
