KANNUR: In a tragic incident, two people were killed after a car rammed into a private bus in Mattannur. The deceased have been identified as Ullikkal natives Beena and Lijo. The condition of four others who were injured in the accident is critical. The accident occurred at eight o'clock this morning on the Mattanur state highway. The car involved in the accident was registered in Karnataka. The car was completely damaged in the accident.
The private bus was heading towards the Thalassery region and the car was travelling towards Iritty. According to eyewitnesses the bus was stopped at the bus stop when the car lost control and rammed into it. According to reports, there were 6 people inside the car. The fire and rescue team had to work extensively to rescue those trapped inside the car. The Mattannur police have also arrived at the spot.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old girl died after a KSRTC Swift bus collided with a goods auto in Thrissur. The deceased is Noora Fathima of Mulloorkkara, who was in the goods auto. The accident occurred at Ottupara near Wadakkanchery in Thrissur at around 1:30 am. Noora’s father Unais (32) and mother Raihanath (28) were injured in the accident. Raihanath is pregnant. The injured have been admitted to Thrissur Medical College Hospital. The accident happened when Noora Fathima was being taken to the district hospital following stomach pain. The child's body is currently kept at the hospital. It will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.
