LUCKNOW: A significant twist has emerged in a case where a 36-year-old woman was accused of eloping with a beggar, leaving behind her husband and six children. The woman, who dismissed the allegations of her husband, informed the police that she had relocated to a relative's home in Farrukhabad to escape her husband's physical abuse. The police have confirmed that further action will be taken in light of this new information. The incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh, where the woman's husband, Raju, reported her missing last Sunday, claiming that she had vanished without explanation.

Raju, 45, lived in Harpalpur, Hardoi, with his wife Rajeshwari and their children. Rajeshwari had been missing since last Friday. In his complaint, Raju alleged that Rajeshwari had eloped with Nanhe Pandit, a 45-year-old beggar who frequently visited the neighbourhood seeking alms. Raju told the police that he had noticed Nanhe Pandit chatting and talking on the phone with Rajeshwari on several occasions.

On January 3, Rajeshwari left home saying she was going to buy vegetables but did not return. Raju also reported that the money that he had saved from selling a buffalo was also missing from the house. Convinced that she had eloped with Nanhe Pandit, Raju filed a police complaint. The police registered an FIR, accusing Nanhe Pandit of abduction and other charges that could result in up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine.
