Devaswom Board launches insurance coverage for Sabarimala devotees, staff

SABARIMALA: President of Travancore Devaswom Board PS Prashanth informed about starting accident insurance coverage for the devotees and Devaswom employees in Sabarimala. The Devaswom employees and devotees will be eligible for an insurance plan of Rs five lakh. If an accident occurs within the limits of Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts, the insurance claim will be accepted.

Insurance will be also covered for devotees arriving through virtual queue and spot booking. The scheme will be implemented through United General Insurance Company. The policy amount will be borne by the Devaswom Board.

Apart from this, insurance will be provided to cleaning workers and dolly workers. Sabarimala ADM Arun S Nair confirmed starting the process of giving them membership. They will get Rs 10 lakh each in case of death or total disability and Rs 5 lakh in case of partial disability. The insurance starts with India Postal Payments Bank for one year at a premium of Rs 499.
