NEW DELHI: Pilgrims from different parts of the country flocked to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh today, the third day of the Maha Kumbh Mela. Devotees who reached the Triveni Sangam in boats from the shore recited the verses of Goddess Ganga and took bath. Triveni Sangam is the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers. More than five crore devotees attended the Maha Kumbh Mela, which started on Monday, in the first two days alone.

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation, Coimbatore, also reached Prayagraj today for a two-day visit. “Being a 'bharatiya,' how can you avoid Maha Kumbh? It's the greatest event on the planet. This is the only place, the only civilization, where these many people aspire for 'mukti,' for liberation," he said.

A group of 21 members from 10 nations came for the Mahakumbh Mela. Representatives of Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad, Tobago and UAE have arrived at the invitation of the central government. The group, which is staying in the tent city today, will bathe at the Sangam Ghat tomorrow.
