Sexually abused numerous female students over past 15 years; psychologist arrested

NAGPUR: Police have arrested a psychologist who sexually abused numerous female students for several years. The incident took place in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where the accused targeted school and college girls, entrapping and exploiting them. According to the police, the psychologist abused more than 50 students over the past 15 years.

The accused used to build close relationships with students by promising to help them secure better jobs, achieve growth, and gain financial stability. He then exploited them physically and recorded visuals of the abuse. Later, he used these visuals to blackmail the victims and continue the exploitation, the police said.

Many of the victims later got married and refrained from reporting the abuse out of fear that it might affect their marital lives. The sexual assaults came to light a few weeks ago when a 27-year-old victim approached the police. This led to the filing of a case and further investigations.

The arrested accused is already serving a sentence in Nagpur Central Jail for another case. The police also discovered that the accused’s wife and a female associate helped bring girls to his institute. Cases have been registered against both women, who are currently absconding. The police are preparing to take the accused into custody as part of an investigation into various abuse cases spanning 15 years.
