KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited MLA Uma Thomas, who is undergoing treatment after falling from the stage during a dance event at Kaloor Stadium. The chief minister arrived at Renai Medicity along with leaders including Minister K N Balagopal and CPM district secretary C N Mohanan.
The chief minister was about to leave for Kolkata to partake in the CPM Central Committee meetings. He met the MLA before that. Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally had visited Uma Thomas yesterday. The minister talked to the MLA. The minister was accompanied by Congress-S office bearers V V Santhosh Lal, ATC Kunjumon, Renju Cherian and M B Noushad.
Uma Thomas fell from the stage during a mega dance party organized by Mridanga Vision in Wayanad on the evening of December 29. She fell from a height of about 20 feet. The MLA, who was covered in blood, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
The seriously injured MLA was on ventilator. She was taken off the ventilator on January 4. The 14-foot-high temporary stage built in the gallery of the Kaloor Stadium did not even have a barricade.
