MUMBAI: A new twist has emerged in the incident where actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in an attack by a thief. Police now believe that the attacker’s original target was Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, located near Saif and Kareena’s home. Evidence supporting this theory has surfaced during the investigation.
On January 14, suspicious activity was reported at Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat. Police discovered that an unknown individual had attempted to survey the house and its surroundings using an iron ladder. The ladder, measuring approximately 6-8 feet, was found at the rear of a property adjacent to Mannat, raising suspicions. Additionally, CCTV footage from Mannat reportedly shows a person resembling the suspect spotted near Saif's apartment. This has led the police to suspect that the same individual could be involved in both incidents. However, Shah Rukh Khan has not officially filed a complaint in the matter.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan, who was undergoing treatment after being stabbed, has been moved out of the ICU. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai stated that Saif is recovering quickly and has even started walking.
The attack on Saif occurred in the early hours of Thursday, around 2:30 AM, at his luxury residence in Bandra West. Saif was stabbed six times, including injuries to his neck and spine. The assailant used a blade approximately two and a half inches long to stab him in the back. Two individuals, including a carpenter and his assistant who were contracted for work at Saif’s house, are currently in police custody. Authorities are investigating whether they had any involvement in the attack and how the crime was orchestrated. Police suspect that the attacker, who seemed to have detailed knowledge of the house, received inside help. Saif was stabbed during a confrontation with the attacker. Following the incident, Saif's elder son, Ibrahim, rushed him to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw.
