One person killed after tourist bus overturns in Thiruvananthapuram; rescue efforts continue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One person was killed after a tourist bus overturned near Irinchayam in Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as a 60-year-old woman named Dasini. Further details about her are not yet available. Preliminary reports suggest the group involved in the accident was going on a trip from Perumkadavila in Kattakada. It is also reported, though unconfirmed, that the majority of those on the bus were children.

The group reportedly consisted of 49 individuals of various ages. The accident occurred around 10 PM on Friday night in front of the Irinchayam Milk Society. The bus lost control and overturned, landing upside down. The police, locals, and fire force are carrying out rescue operations. Ambulances from various organizations quickly arrived at the scene.

The injured were taken to Nedumangad Taluk Hospital, while those with severe injuries were shifted to the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. A total of 20 people have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital. Locals attribute the accident to the bus losing control on a winding road.
