KOCHI: The High Court has stated that a permanent system should be in place to prevent legal violations such as occupying roads and setting up stages that cause traffic disruptions. The division bench comprising Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice S Manu clarified that taking contempt of court action after every event is not practical.

The court was considering a petition filed by Advocate Kulathoor Jaisingh against an event named Jwala Vanitha Junction held in Balramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, where a stage was erected on the road, disrupting traffic and causing difficulties to both passengers and vehicles. The court directed the police to provide details about the arrangements made and the actions taken so far.

The program was inaugurated by Kiran Narayanan, the District Police Chief of Thiruvananthapuram Rural. The petition states that the Balaramapuram SHO committed a serious breach of rules by making all arrangements for this program held on Vizhinjam Road in Balaramapuram on January 3.

The petitioner's lawyer, R Gopan, informed the court that no action was taken despite a complaint being filed with the State Police Chief.
