Drinking cow urine will cure diseases, kills bacteria, fungus, says Madras IIT director

CHENNAI: Madras IIT Director V Kamakoti said diseases can be cured quickly by drinking cow urine. V Kamakoti, one of the country's AI experts, made the remark at a cow puja ceremony held at Mambalam in Chennai on the occasion of Pongal. He said that when his father had a fever, drank cow urine on the advice of a sanyasi and the fever subsided after fifteen minutes. Kamakoti said that he does not remember the name of the sanyasi. He added that cow urine can destroy bacteria and viruses and cure digestive problems in the stomach.

There is widespread protest against V Kamakoti's statement. Congress leader and MP Karti Chidambaram wrote in X that spreading unscientific things is unbecoming of his position. Some are also demanding that such things that have no scientific basis should not be spread or promoted. Meantime, many have come forward supporting him. They ask why those who were hesitant to praise V Kamakoti at that time, even though he has done many great things, are now criticizing him when he tells the truth in the light of experience.
