Two siblings of Pune found dead in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two siblings were found dead at a hotel in Thampanoor in the capital city. The bodies of Mukta Kontiba Bawe and her brother Kontiba Bawe of Pune in Maharashtra were found Sunday morning. Kontiba Bawe was found hanging and Mukta Kontiba Bawe was found lying dead on the bed. Initial reports said that it is a case of suicide. A suicide note was recovered from the room.


The two had checked into the hotel on Friday. The two had come for differently-abled Mukta Kontiba Bawe’s treatment. They had gone out Saturday evening. When they returned, they rdered food, including tea, for this morning at the reception. The hotel employee who went with tea this morning knocked on the room but there was no response. The two were found dead in a search conducted. The Thampanoor police were immediately informed. The police investigation is progressing.


A man had killed a woman at a lodge in Thampanoor and later committed suicide last week. The dead were Kumar and Asha, natives of Peyyad. Kumar was a cameraman of a private channel and she was a temporary employee of military canteen. The bodies were found in a search conducted as they were not seen outside.
