KOCHI: Th police have registered a case against more people in the incident of abducting a woman councillor of Koothattukulam Municipality. An FIR has been registered against UDF and LDF activists. A case has been registered against Anoop Jacob MLA for besieging the police station. A case has been registered against LDF workers for attacking the UDF activists.
Councillor Kala Raju came forward the other day saying that CPM members abducted her when she came to attend a discussion on the no-confidence motion moved against the LDF. Kala Raju said that they threatened to chop off her legs. Her allegations were after the police registered a case on the complaint of abduction.
The councillor alleged that they spoke to her in a very bad language. They pushed her into the car and was subjected to physical assault. Kala Raju said that a CPM worker threatened to chop off her legs when it got stuck in the car. After abducting her, she was held captive in the CPM area committee office. She said that she was not taken to the hospital when she developed uneasiness and when she suffered a chest pain, they gave her gas tablets.
She was abducted when a no-confidence motion against the LDF governing council was scheduled in Koothattukulam Municipality. The police had registered a case against 45 people including CPM area secretary, municipal chairperson, vice chairman and the party local secretary, in the incident.
