KOZHIKODE: A lookout notice has been issued against actor Koottickal Jayachandran in a POCSO Case. The Kerala High Court had last week rejected his anticipatory bail plea on the complaint of sexually abusing his close relative’s daughter. Following that, the police issued a lookout notice against him. The actor approached the high court soon after the Kozhikode sessions court rejected his bail plea.
Kozhikode Kasaba police registered the POCSO case in the incident that happened last year. The child's parents were separated. The case is that the child was raped at her mother's house. The child revealed the incident to her grandma when she came to attend her father’s funeral. She reiterated her statement to the psychologist and the magistrate. A medical examination showed injuries suspecting rape. The case was registered on the complaint of the child’s mother.
The child's relative had recently filed a complaint with the state police chief and commissioner asserting that action is being delayed against the actor. The relative's complaint said the accused is likely to flee abroad and as there is a threat to the girl and her relatives, she is not being sent to school. The complaint demanded that steps be taken to arrest the accused, investigate and file a chargesheet immediately.
