WASHINGTON: Donald Trump signed his first order within hours of being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America. The first executive orders signed by Trump include pardoning those charged with crimes in the 2021 Capitol Hill riots, withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate agreement, lifting the ban on TikTok for 75 days and reversing 78 actions of the Biden administration.

Trump signed eight executive orders in front of his supporters at the Capitol One Arena in Washington soon after swearing in. After signing, he held up the documents and threw the pen into the cheering crowd. The remaining documents were signed in at the Oval Office.

1. Reverse 78 actions taken by the Biden administration.
2. Withdraw United States from the Paris climate agreement for the second time.
3. Freeze all federal hiring except for the military and certain other essential jobs.
4. Federal workers return to full-time employment.
5. Direct all departments to address the cost-of-living crisis.
6. Block bureaucrats from issuing regulations until the Trump administration has full control of the government.
7. Restore freedom of speech and prevent censorship of free speech.
8. End the government's weaponization of political opponents of the previous administration, which was the first of eight executive orders signed by Trump in his second term.

The orders signed by Trump include the US withdrawal from the World Health Organization, a national emergency declaration on the US southern border with Mexico as part of a crackdown on illegal immigration, designating drug trafficking organizations as terrorist organizations, ending birthright citizenship, renaming several US landmarks including Mount McKinley and the Gulf of America, restoring Cuba to the US list of state sponsors of terrorism, and revoking the security clearances of 51 former officials who signed Hunter Biden's laptop letter. The swearing-in ceremony took place at 10:30 pm Indian time inside the US Capitol, where the US Congress meets. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath. J D Vance also took office as Vice President. World leaders including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Argentine President Javier Miela, and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng witnessed the function.
