THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All Kerala Men's Association has decided to celebrate the sentencing of Parassala Poomballikonam native Greeshma, the first accused in the Sharon murder case, to the death penalty. They plan to perform palabhishekam (ceremonial pouring of milk) on the cutout of AM Basheer, the judge who delivered the sentence, and burst firecrackers. The event is scheduled to take place today at 11:30 AM in front of the Secretariat. Activist Rahul Easwar will inaugurate the event. A notice regarding this was issued by the All Kerala Men's Association, and its image has been circulating on social media. However, the authenticity of this notice is yet to be confirmed.
On Monday, the Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court sentenced Greeshma to death and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh. Greeshma's uncle, Nirmala Kumaran Nair, was sentenced to three years in prison. Sharon's death occurred on October 25, 2022. Greeshma, who was in a relationship with Sharon, mixed poison into a concoction and gave it to him. The case was investigated by a special team led by the then Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP, D Shilpa. The investigation relied entirely on circumstantial evidence as there were no direct witnesses.
