THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Aanpirannol’, depicting the survival story of a transgender received the state government’s award for best television serial of 2023. The serial directed by Siva Mohan Thampi and written by Ganesh Oliakkara was aired on Amrita TV.
‘Surabhiyum Suhasiniyum’, another sitcom aired on Flowers TV and directed by Rajesh Thalachira was selected as the second-best serial. ‘Kanmashi’ aired on Kerala Vision is the best telefilm under 20 minutes. Directed and scripted by Anoop Krishnan, ‘Kanmashi’ was produced by Anjali Kallengat. ‘Lily’, directed by Maryam Shanub, became the best telefilm in the more than 20 minutes category.
The best story award also fell upon ‘Aanpirannol’ serial’s writer Ganga. ‘Kidilam’ airing on Manorama was selected as the best entertainment program.
Oru Chiri Iru Chiri Bumper Chiri" won the award for the Best Comedy Programme. Anoop Krishnan (Kanmashi) won the award for Best Director and Actor in the Telefilm category. Seenu Raghavendra won the second best actor award for ‘Amme Bhagavathy’.
In the telefilm category, Riya Kuriakose shared the award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Aanpirannol’ and Mariam Shanub for her role in ‘Lily’. Anukkutty won the second best actress award for her performance in ‘Surabhiyum Suhasiniyum’.
Adith Dev won Best Child Actor for his role in the telefilm 'Maduram' presented by Shalom TV. Shihab Ongallur won the Best Cinematography award for his work in ‘Kanmashi’.
