Tiger spotted again at scene of yesterday's attack; search continues in tea plantation

WAYANAD: Locals say they saw the tiger again in Pancharakolly. The youth saw the tiger again near the site of the attack yesterday. The surveillance camera also captured the footage of the tiger. The locals are searching the tea plantation. The forest department also states that the tiger is present in the area. The search has been intensified. However, the protest of the local people in the area continues to be strong due to the delay in the mission to capture the tiger.

The locals threatened that the officials would not be released from the estate unless the tiger was shot dead. Residents have organized a protest at the mission team's base camp. They are protesting in front of the base camp.

Meanwhile, the body of tribal housewife Radha (45), who was killed in a tiger attack, was cremated. Minister OR Kelu and others participated in the funeral ceremony. Many locals came to the place to pay their last respects to Radha. Radha's body, which was kept at the Mananthavady Govt Medical College Hospital, was handed over to her relatives this morning.


Radha is the wife of Appachan, a temporary watcher of the forest department. Her head was severed in a tiger attack. The body was half eaten. Radha had gone to pick coffee pods in the plantation of her friend Chandran. At 8 o'clock in the morning, Appachan took Radha on a scooter. The body was found at 11.15 by the Thunder Bolt team which was searching for Maoists in the forest area. The body was lying in the forest 150 meters away from the boundary of the plantation.
