DUBAI: Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh, who made significant contributions in the T20I format, including his role in India’s World Cup triumph, has been named the ICC Men's T20 Player of the Year. Over the past year, the 25-year-old Arshdeep played 18 international T20I matches and claimed 36 wickets. His achievement surpasses those of players like Australia's Travis Head, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, and Pakistan's Babar Azam.
Arshdeep ranks fifth among players who took the most T20I wickets in a single year. His standout performance came in the T20 World Cup against the USA, where he recorded figures of 4/9. With a total of 17 wickets in the World Cup, Arshdeep tied with Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been chosen as the captain of the ICC T20 team. Last year, India won the World Cup title under Rohit Sharma's captaincy.
