Hours before wedding, groom killed in road accident in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: In a tragic incident, a youngster who was supposed to get married today died in a late-night accident on Wednesday. Kadaplamattom native Jijo Jinson died in the accident. The bike which Jijo and his friend travelled on rammed into a traveller in the MC road Kalikavu area.

Vayala native Ajith who was along with Jijo is now undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College for serious injuries. The accident happened at 10 pm on Wednesday. Despite rushing Jijo to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The tragedy struck just hours before Jijo’s marriage with a Vayala native woman was to take place today at Laikadu church.
