THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A two-year-old girl, who went missing from Balaramapuram, has been found dead in a well. The dead is Devendu, daughter of Shreethu and Sreejith. The parents filed a missing complaint with the police Thursday morning. The body of the toddler was found in the well of the house in a search conducted. Police said that there is mystery in the death. The child, who went to sleep last night, went missing in the morning.

Neyyattinkara DySP said that an investigation is underway and two people are being interrogated in connection with the incident. The child's body was found in the well in a search conducted by the fire force team. Since the well has a railing there is no possibility for the child to fall on its own and there is mystery, said M Vincent MLA.

The police suspect it to be a murder. The investigation is focusing on the family. The child slept in the room of her maternal uncle yesterday. The mother said that she had heard the child crying at 5.30 am. At the time the child was reported missing, there was a fire in the room where she was sleeping. It was only after the fire was extinguished, noticed that the child was missing. A police team led by the DySP is conducting an inspection on the spot.
