PERUMBAVOOR: Two more Bangladeshi women were arrested by the police during the inspection conducted under 'Operation Clean'. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rubina (20), a native of Barisal, and Kulsum Akhtar (23), a native of Shaktipur in Bangladesh. The Kodanad police also seized fake Aadhaar cards from them.
Both women have been in Kerala since February 2024. They crossed the border into West Bengal and later obtained Aadhaar cards through an agent. The police have launched an investigation to identify those who provided help to these women in Kerala.
Under the leadership of District Police Chief Vaibhav Saxena, seven Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested this month as part of 'Operation Clean'. The first arrest was of Taslima Begum, a young woman from Bengal Colony, Perumbavoor.
Subsequently, the police arrested Hosain Belor from Angamal, Mohammed Litan Ali and Mohammed Bappi Sho from Edathala and Mohammed Ameen Uddin from Perumbavoor. Several forged documents, including Aadhaar cards, were recovered from them. The police have urged the public to report any information about illegally residing Bangladeshi nationals by contacting 9995214561.
