Strong evidence against Mukesh MLA, special investigation team files charge sheet in sexual abuse complaint

KOCHI: The special investigation team has filed a chargesheet in the sexual abuse complaint against actor and Left MLA Mukesh. The chargesheet stated that the charges levelled by the actress hailing from Aluva, have been proved. There is digital evidence against the MLA in the complaint. The chargesheet was filed in the Ernakulam Judicial Magistrate Court.

WhatsApp chats and e-mail messages with the complainant have been accepted as digital evidence. The chargesheet also mentioned that circumstantial evidence and witness statements have been received. In addition to the sexual abuse, sections of sexual assault have also been charged.

The actress in her complaint alleged that Mukesh abused her in various places by promising roles in the film industry and membership in the Association of Film Actor's Organization (AMMA). The Maradu police had initially registered a case on August 29, based on the complaint of the actress. The actress' secret statement was also recorded in the case. The court had also granted anticipatory bail to Mukesh in the case. The incident happened in 2010. The actress said similar incidents had also occurred at Vadakkancherry in Thrissur and so a case was registered there as well.

Although complaints were filed against many actors after the release of the Hema Committee report, it was the actress of Aluva, who came forward with a clear complaint against an actor. At one point, the actress had retracted from her complaint. Although this created some concern for the investigation team, all the evidence was collected through a thorough investigation.
