Unidentified body found wrapped in mat, murder suspected

IDUKKI: An unidentified body was found at Moolamattom in Idukki. The decomposed body was found wrapped in a mat in the teak plantations. The body is that of a male and is several days old.

The locals informed the police after a foul smell emanated in the area. The body was later found in the search conducted. However, reports said the body has not been identified.

It is suspected whether the body is that of one, who went missing from Melukavu in Kottayam. Initial reports said that it is a murder. The police said that clarity will be obtained only after further investigations and scientific tests.
