KOLLAM: Kudumbashree products are going to be made available online across the country from April onwards. A memorandum of understanding will be signed with a national-level logistics company for the distribution of products ordered on Kudumbashree's e-commerce portal 'Pocket Mart'.
Since Pocket Mart currently works offline using GPS location, only products within a four-kilometer radius of the place where the app is used can be seen. Manufacturers will deliver directly when ordered. There are currently about 200 products. With the nationwide expansion of distribution, the number of products will exceed 1200. Their images and details will be included in the app.
The money transferred by customers through the app will go to Kudumbashree's Pocket Mart account. The amount for each entrepreneur will be checked and transferred on a weekly basis. Usually a service charge is required to be paid to include products in most e-commerce portals. However, there will be no service charge for Pocket Mart. A fixed amount to be paid to the logistics partner will be stated in the contract.
