Two injured, one critical after car hits pickup auto in Kazhakoottam elevated highway

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two sustained injuries after a car hits a pickup auto at the elevated highway in Kazhakoottam. The auto driver identified as Venu (52) of Attingal sustained serious injuries and has been hospitalized. The accident happened at 10 pm last night.

The pickup auto carrying parcel from the airport was proceeding towards Vettu Road area through Kazhakoottam elevated highway. Meanwhile, the accident occurred when a car coming from behind hit the auto.

The pickup auto, which lost control, overturned and traveled for about a hundred meters along the road before hitting the guardrail. The car that caused the accident has not been identified. It fled without stopping. People along with the police rushed those in the pickup to the hospital.
