NEW DELHI: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the railway budget allocation for Kerala is 3042 crores. This is double the amount during the UPA period, the minister said. He added that the Nilambur–Nanjangud project is progressing and more trains are being considered for Kerala. The minister was speaking at a press conference in Delhi. He said that 200 new Vande Bharat trains will be allowed in the country.
'35 railway stations will be developed in Kerala under the AMRUT project. Renovation work is currently underway in many of these. Vande Bharat train services are getting a good response in Kerala. Kerala's demand for more trains will be considered. Steps will be taken to control congestion. Namo Bharat trains running within a distance of 100 km will be introduced. Rs 1.16 lakh crore has been allocated for railway safety,' the minister said.
