PALAKKAD: Neighbour Pushpa was shocked to see Chenthamara, the accused in the Nenmara Pothundi double murder case. Pushpa told the media that during the evidence collection, Chenthamara had made a gesture that he will kill her. 'My hands and legs trembled as soon as I saw him. If he had got a chance, he would have killed me too. He has no sense of guilt. Now I am afraid to live here. I am moving away. I am fed up. I hate this place,' Pushpa said.

Chenthamara(58) hacked to death his neighbours Sudhakaran(56) and his mother Lakshmi(75) at Thiruthanpadam Boyan Colony, Pothundi. In 2019, he had hacked to death Sajitha, Sudhakaran's wife. After being released on bail in this case, Chenthamara killed two more members of the same family. The police were able to arrest Chenthamara, who had gone absconding after the double murder, after 35 hours. The accused, who had been hiding on the hilltop, could not bear hunger and came down the hill to his home. Thats when the police caught him.

Chenthamara narrated everything to the police without any hesitation. The police collected evidence at Chenthamara's house also. Heavy security was arranged, fearing that public anger might arise against the accused. The police collected evidence with the accused for about 45 minutes. He explained to the police how he escaped after committing the crime and where he was hiding.
