NAGPUR: India will kickstart their Champions Trophy preparations with a three-match ODI series against England at VCA stadium, Nagpur on Thursday. The runners-up of the previous Champions Trophy held in 2017 will start their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh. The major event, which is known as the mini World Cup is crucial for the Indian team and senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both players, who were out of form in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy will be looking to bring back their glory days in the tournament.
Rohit and Virat had a productive practice session before the first ODI. The Indian skipper will be looking to give the team an attacking start like the way he did in the last World Cup. Even though they had a poor test series and Ranji season, fans are still hoping for a grand return of the superstars of the Indian team.
Rohit, who played for Mumbai against Jammu & Kashmir scored only 3 and 28 in both innings while Kohli was dismissed for just 6 runs against Railways in the Ranji Trophy. Both players were seen playing some attacking shots in the nets and fans are hopeful seeing the video shared by the BCCI on social media.
Both Rohit and Virat will be looking to perform well in the ODI series and Champions trophy as they will be closely monitored by the selectors.
