Kozhikode: Private bus driver arrested in Kozhikode for driving under influence of ganja

KOZHIKODE: Police have arrested a bus driver for driving under the influence of ganja. Faijas, the driver of the private bus running on the Perumanna-Kozhikode route, was arrested by the Pantheeramkavu police. The police arrested Faijas during an inspection conducted on the basis of a tip-off. The officers also found leftover ganja in Faijas's pocket, indicating he had used it.

The incident occurred this afternoon. The police received a tip-off that the driver of the Road King city bus with registration number KL57 J 1744, operating on the Perumanna-Kozhikode route, was driving under the influence of ganja. Following this, a search operation was conducted under the leadership of Pantheeramkavu SI Subhash Chandran.

Both the bus and the driver have been taken into police custody. The police also announced that they would initiate proceedings to suspend the driver's license.
