THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SFI state secretary P M Arsho’s latest statement is now in the limelight for its superfluous tone.

“Nothing would happen in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram without the knowledge of the Students' Federation of India. If the Kerala University Vice Chancellor goes berserk, SFI knows how to tame him. For that, we don’t even need SFI members from across the state. The Thiruvananthapuram unit would be enough to do the job” Arsho was speaking at the protest demonstration held today at the Kerala University headquarters.

The SFI protested against the VC’s decision denying the new student union to take oath, and also against the police brutality that took place yesterday. The police fired water cannons at the activists who tried to break the barricade.

Arsho said that SFI wanted to carry forward the indefinite strike in a peaceful manner.

“Mohanan Kunnummal, the RSS apologist would go berserk whenever he hears the name 'SFI'. That is why a democratically elected union is not allowed to function. SFI knows how to bring down the authoritarian show-off of Kunnummal. We will not allow him to come out of his house in Thrissur. Not just him, SFI is mighty enough to bring the whole of Thiruvananthapuram under control. Police should also understand this.

One DCP ruffian tried to mess with SFI yesterday. I would like to give him some advice. SFI is not the paltry few ABVP workers he dealt with. If we have made a decision, we will stay in it rock-solid. We will resume the strike at the gates of the university.”
