Woman dies after speeding car knocks her down while crossing road

KANNUR: A 58-year-old woman died after a speeding car hit her while she was crossing the road. She has been identified as Bhanumathi of Eripuram. The incident happened Friday morning at 6 am. The accident occurred while she was returning home after delivering milk to a society.

Her husband was accompanying her. Her husband has a slight vision impairment. She first helped her husband to cross the road. She then returned and took porridge water from a nearby hotel to feed her cow and crossed the road.

At this time, a speeding car fatally knocked her down Bhanumathi. Eyewitnesses said she was thrown about 200 meters away and she died on the spot itself.
