Working in State capital, found hanging in Thrissur; mystery in death of Kerala cop

PUTHOOR: Missing civil police officer found hanging. Thiruvananthapuram City DHQ Camp police officer Mahesh Raj (49) was found hanging in a lodge in Thrissur. He is the son of the late Rajan Kurup and Sarojini Amma. He is unmarried.

Mahesh left home on 1st February, saying that he was going to Thiruvananthapuram for work. The Ezhukone police had registered a case and started an investigation on the 3rd, following a complaint from Mahesh Raj's brother. Mahesh Raj, who had taken a room in a private lodge in Thrissur on the 4th, had informed the lodge authorities that he would vacate the room on the 6th. However, he did not vacate the room by then. The body was found during a check by the staff.
