Infamous gift of Sherin to Sunita; what made Sherin a darling in jail?

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fellow prisoner Sunita reveals more about the facilities that Sherin, the recently released convict of the famous Bhaskara Karanavar case. Sherin was a very influential person in the jail and, she didn't need to threaten others to get the job done. She was a calm person inside the jail premises and never engaged in any kind of argument with anyone. Sunita also says that Sherin maintained good relationships with everyone and was never put inside the lock-up. She was busy with stitching classes when she was in the jail.

Sherin had constant communication with the CIG Pradeep via mobile who used to come to the jail every week. He comes to the jail by 6 pm and has a chit-chat with lady officers. Sherin will be taken out of the cell and will return after hours. Sherin had a great opinion about Pradeep. She even admitted to her fellow prisoner about the phone conversations and the good relationship she had with him.

Sherin enjoyed many privileges like food from the restaurant, a mobile phone, and make-up worth 15000 rupees. She was also allowed to bring dresses from her home and even an umbrella to carry during her walk from the office to the cell. Sunita says Sherin had a completely normal life inside the jail.

Sunita said that Sherin invited her once to eat food brought from outside which she rejected. She also revealed that Sherin forced Remya, another fellow prisoner of her to wash her clothes. Sherin was advised not to maintain a good relationship with Sunita who underwent a hunger strike in Viyyur jail.

Sherin promised Sunita that she would help her get out of jail if she stopped complaining about her. Shein was treated as a small child even by the jail superintendent, who was never serious when complaints were received about the relationship between Sherin and Pradeep. Sherin was out on parole when complaints were filed and came back with a pen worth 2500. She gave the pen to Sunita and asked her to write complaints using that pen.

Sherin had a big bucket full of belongings when she was inside the jail and even had Chicken biriyani and Masala Dosa. She was treated well always by the officials and her requests were fulfilled without any delay. Sunita was in the Attakulangara jail for four months in 2015 and revealed what she saw in the cell next to her. Sunita was in the cell next to Sherin.
