THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan said in a press conference that the issue of tolls on KIIFB roads has not been discussed in the LDF. Govindan rejected LDF convener T.P. Ramakrishnan's statement that the issue had been discussed. "There is no agreement to toll in general. A final decision has not been taken on the toll issue," he said.

"A Rs 90,000 crore project was implemented through KIIFB. Specific plans will be needed to repay the debt. Understanding and detailed discussions are two things. The government will move forward with the proposed brewery in Elappully. That process is ongoing. There is no need to stop it. We will discuss the issue and move forward. The revenue department's denial of land conversion permission given by Oasis Company is not seen as CPI's interference. The issue is about a small area. It will not be more than four acres. The Left government can discuss and decide on all that. The stand taken by the revenue officials should not be seen as CPI's opposition. The government took the decision not because of RJD or anyone else. If there are any factors that hinder the brewery, it will be discussed and the necessary decision will be taken," Govindan said.
