A few days ago, a few members of the producers’ association revealed the hitherto shrouded details of theatre shares of the newest releases, and slammed the high remuneration demanded by actors, despite their movies bombing at box offices. Along with this, the association also revealed the tragic fall from grace of a producer, who had to splash Rs 20 crore for a movie that was initially planned to complete in a budget of Rs four crore. The film ended up as a disaster and the producer went bankrupt.
Now the crew of the same movie opened up about the truth behind the now viral revelation in the Mollywood.
Binu Manambur, the production controller of the movie ‘Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha’ has come up with the revelation. Manambur confirmed that the director to be blamed for the producer’s current fate was Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.
Binu Manambur:
“Dear all, I hope Everyone saw the video of Mr. Suresh Kumar sir, the official of the producer association, telling the tragic tale of a producer who went bankrupt after financing a movie. Let me tell you, I was the production controller of the movie. What he said is very true.
However, people may perceive that everyone involved in the movie cheated the producer. That also includes me. So it is pertinent that I clear the air. Dear Producers Mr Emmanuel & Ajith Thalappilly, technicians including me and actor Rajesh Madhavan have not cheated you. The one who ruined your business is the same director whom you blindly trusted, Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.
Despite the budget going five times the initially proposed figures, you helped the movie reach theatres. I have only respect for you Emmanuel sir.”
Meanwhile, Binu Manambur, in the latter part of his post cryptically mentioned the role of producer Listin Stephen, but didn’t add further.
