KOCHI: On Sunday, Muvattupuzha police took fraud accused Ananthu Krishnan to various locations in Ernakulam as part of evidence collection. The NGO Confederation's project office at Ponnurunni, Villa at Panampilly Nagar, Ashoka Flat at Marine Drive, and offices at Palarivattom and Kalamassery were inspected. Police have sealed all these locations.

As it is required to check the electronic materials, police will once again conduct searches in the same locations. After the custody period is over, Ananthu Krishnan will be produced in court on Monday morning. Paravur police are preparing to take him into custody and question him.

It is alleged that the police are slow in filing cases despite the increase in the number of complainants. Although there are about a thousand complaints in Ernakulam alone, less than ten cases have been registered. Political intervention is rumoured as the reason for the slow pace of the case.

Ananthu had earlier given a statement that he had given Rs 2 crore to Sai Gramam Global director Ananda Kumar from the money collected through the half-priced scam. Ananthu had also said this in front of the media during the collection of evidence. Although it was clarified that Ananthu had also given money to politicians, it has not yet been revealed to whom.

Ananthu also revealed having no financial dealings with BJP leader A N Radhakrishnan. Ananthu said he would reveal more names later.
