NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's four-day visit to France and the US has begun. The Prime Minister, who left Delhi yesterday morning, reached Paris late at night. The main agenda of the three-day visit to France, which is being held at the invitation of President Macron, is the AI Action Summit to be held today. The Prime Minister will co-chair the summit with Macron, which will be attended by world leaders and global tech CEOs.
"In Paris, I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, a gathering of world leaders and global tech CEOs, where we will exchange views on a collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and larger public good in an inclusive, secure and trustworthy manner. The bilateral segment of my visit will provide an opportunity to review the progress on the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic partnership along with my friend President Macron," the Prime Minister said in Delhi before his visit.
The main events include the inauguration of the first Indian Consulate in France in Marseille, a visit to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project, of which India is a member, and paying tribute to the Indian soldiers who died in the World Wars at the Mazargues War Memorial.
To meet friend Trump...
After his visit to France, Modi will leave for the US on the 12th. "From France, I will proceed on a two-day visit to the United States at the invitation of President Donald Trump. I look forward to meeting my friend, President Trump. Although this will be our first meeting following his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I have a very warm recollection of working together in his first term in building a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the US." said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister added that the visit will help continue the existing cooperation and deepen the partnership in areas such as technology, trade, defence, energy and supply chain resilience.
