Dubbing artists have become the voices of stars more than the actors. Director Alleppey Ashraf has revealed things that most people do not know about the life of Anandavally, a unique artist who gave voice to heroines of the Malayalam film industry.

'Chandramohan and Anandavally were once the busiest dubbing artists. I first met Anandavally when the shooting of the film Dweep was progressing in Merryland Studio. She was the wife of the then Merryland Studio Manager Veliyam Chandran. The two later divorced due to some issues. She later started her life with director K S Gopalakrishnan.

I first met Chandramohan when I went for dubbing in Madras. Chandramohan and his wife Jayashree were living happily in Madras. Just like the hero and heroine of Manjil Virinja Pookkal falling in love, those who gave voice for them also fell in love after the dubbing was over.

The two got married after ignoring their families. Their relations were something that created a huge sensation. It was Anandavally who dubbed for the heroine of my film 'Ninnishtam Ennishtam'. The dubbing which starts at 7 pm will end only the next day.

At that time, I had a comedy actor who assisted me. Kavara Sasankan. He is no longer alive. When it was time to start dubbing for the heroine, its production controller Appi Radhakrishnan came to me and said, 'Anna, I will be going tonight, there is an urgent matter. When I asked him about the urgency, seeing Kavara Sasankan with me, he hesitated and told me the reason. When Anandavally dubs here today, Chandramohan will come here and take all his belongings and then escape from her. There are big issues between the two and if they fight, Anandavally will call a local rowdy and threaten Chandramohan.

Chandramohan later married Ambili, a dubbing artist. Director Deepan was the only son of Anandavally from her first marriage. It was Deepan who directed the film 'Puthiya Mukham' with Prithviraj. There is also a tragic story in Deepan's life. When his wife and mother-in-law were at home, two criminals who came to give cable connection, killed both and decamped with their gold and money. The bodies were dumped in the septic tank of the house itself. This had created a sensation,' he said.
