India sets huge target at Narendra Modi Stadium, England struggling

AHMEDABAD: England is struggling to chase the mammoth target of 357 runs set by India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. All their top batsmen has already gone back to the pavilion. England lost six wickets while scoring 160 runs in 27 overs. Tom Banton, who scored 38 runs, and Ben Duckett, who scored 34 runs, were the batsmen who played well for England so far. Arshdeep (2), newcomer Harshit Rana (2), Axar Patel (2) and Kuldeep Yadav (1) were the bowlers who took the English wickets.

India, who lost the toss and elected to bat, lost captain Rohit Sharma (1) early on. However, vice-captain Shubman Gill, who joined Kohli after him, put in a brilliant performance on his home ground. Gill was dismissed after scoring his seventh ODI century of his career. Gill scored 112 runs in 102 balls. Gill's innings consisted of 14 fours and three sixes. On the other hand, Kohli gave signs that he is returning to his form today. Kohli scored his 73rd half-century in his career. Shreyas Iyer, who came in after Kohli was dismissed by a great ball from Adil Rashid, put in a good performance by scoring 78 runs in 64 balls. KL Rahul (40), Hardik Pandya (17), Axar Patel (13), Washington Sundar (14), Harshit Rana (13) and Arshadeep (2) were the other contributors. India were all out for 356 in the stipulated 50 overs. England were at a loss of 100 runs in the over when the final information was received.
