NEW DELHI: Even five days after receiving a thumping majority in elections, the BJP leadership is at a crossroads trying to pick a Chief minister for the national capital. The Chief Minister will be elected in the first legislative party meeting of 48 MLAs on Sunday 16th. Seven ministers will also take charge, along with the Chief Minister.
Parvesh Verma, who defeated Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal, and Delhi MPs Harsh Malhotra, Manoj Tiwari and Bansuri Swaraj are under consideration for the CM post. The first assembly party meeting will have two senior leaders from the national leadership to oversee the selection of the chief minister and cabinet members. The discussion is being led by Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the organization's general secretary BL Santosh.
On Wednesday, various committees led a detailed discussion to analyze the election defeat in 22 constituencies. 48 MLAs who won also participated.
