Antony Perumbavoor is a very clever producer in Malayalam cinema, says producer Sanhtosh T. Kuruvila. He shares his own experience to substantiate this. Sanhtosh T. Kuruvila was a production partner in the film 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham'.
"That day, while sitting in the hotel and talking about the cost, Antony Chettan asked me if I was ready to make the film 'Marakkar,' which might result in the loss of 12 crores. The budget of the film was estimated at 48 crores before the start of the film. Antony Chettan and I were ready to take the risk. The total budget of the film was Rs. 80 crore in the end. However, we only incurred a loss of Rs. 5 crore, simply due to the brilliance of Antony Chettan. The Malayalam film industry has grown. Antony Perumbavoor has been making films for 25 years. Antony went to Ottapalam to continue the shoot of the film 'Naatturajavu,' while a film strike was going on."
Santhosh T. Kuruvilla disagreed with G. Suresh Kumar's statement that there should be a film strike from June. It is foolish to think that a strike can achieve something. I am never in favour of a strike. However, I will continue to tolerate and stand by the decision taken by the association.
