THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The post-mortem report of Neyyattinkara Gopan pointed at bruises at four parts of the body. The post-mortem report says that there are bruises in four places including the face, nose and head. However, the report mentioned the bruises not to be the factor that led to the death.
Gopan had liver cirrhosis. He also had a cyst in his kidneys and a 75 per cent block in his coronary arteries. The actual cause of death will be known only after the results of the chemical tests. Gopan's preliminary post-mortem report also stated that there were two blocks in the heart valve. He had wounds on his legs due to diabetes. The doctors said that he had a scar on his head.
The lungs portion was found to be smeared with sacred ash. This may have happened when the family tried to cremate him after believing the old man attained Samadhi.
Gopan died on January 9 while his two sons and other family members claimed that the senile attained samadhi. Suspicious about the death, the locals complained and staged an uproar.
The high court later intervened and the body was exhumed and examined but the reports played down the chances of unnatural death.
